CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
Our Mission
To introduce our youngest Methodists to God and help them develop a relationship and understanding of His love. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14.
Provide your children with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of music while praising God through some of the finest (and funnest!) choral music available. 3 different age-appropriate groups are available!
Sunday Morning
Sunday School is an integral part of everyone‘s faith development. This time is planned explicitly with age-appropriate faith curriculum and development activities. All Sunday classes are held for everyone as young as three (potty trained) during the 9:30 am and 11:00 am (Crossing) worship service.

ANNUAL PROGRAMMING
We strive to make each year fun and full of opportunities to grow the love of Christ in our children. While our events page can tell you when everything’s happening, click below to see more about what each year has in store!
-
Every year we celebrate Easter as a community at our Easter Eggstravaganza! Join us for snacks, crafts, games, and more as we find ways to teach our children the love of Jesus Christ.
-
Parents often describe FUMCCV’s Vacation Bible School as one of the best VBS day camps in south San Diego! Join us for five days of fun, science, crafts, and more as we learn about the Bible. In addition, our sixth graders are welcome to participate in their special outings to further their connection with God’s creation.
-
This is one of the year’s most anticipated events for our youth up to grade 12! At Camp Cedar Glen, children and youth are building connections with kids from across San Diego’s UMCs, learning more about Jesus Christ, all while getting the traditional summer camp experience.
-
Fall Festival is one of our largest free community events full of candy, fun, face painting, haunted houses, and more! Kids of all ages are welcome to come and get candy from our decorated “trunk or treat” cars and dress up in their Halloween costumes.
-
What better way to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ than to gather as a community? At Christmas on the Quad, we serve cocoa and snacks to all ages as we join for crafts, build “blessing bags” for our houseless neighbors, and listen to musical performances by our church choirs.
