Applicants must be a member of a United Methodist Church, have a financial need, and be pursuing a course of study in Social Services- a career that helps people in a rather direct and meaningful manner. Social Service workers provide services for children and their families, the poor, the homeless, immigrants, veterans, the mentally ill, the disabled, victims of rape and domestic violence, or persons dependent on alcohol or drugs.

  • Elva & Charles Rowe Memorial Book Scholarships

Available ONLY for students enrolled at a 2-year Community College.

This scholarship is for college undergraduates. First preference is given to students currently associated with the First United Methodist Church of Chula Vista who demonstrate the need for the scholarship. The Rowe Family established this book scholarship to encourage students to pursue a college education. It is not limited to a particular field of study. Students with limited financial resources will be given first preference.

Available for community college through post-grad students.

This scholarship is for the 2023-24 school year for students attending full-time (minimum 12 units each semester, or 24 units for the year) at a community college, 4-year undergraduate college/university, or post-graduate program.
